My work is driven by a resolute commitment to turn simple observation into clear visual narratives and to document the human experience. A substantial portion of my portfolio revolves around the study of a region or city's identity. These projects were influenced by the liminal space created by my mixed heritage, where cultural belonging and identity are perpetually negotiated. The feeling of being an outsider looking in is a common theme in projects such as Soho and Appalachia. Photography has let me channel the ideas associated with this space, allowing me to unobtrusively inhabit and document a scene.
